
Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary : is situated on the banks of the Periyar lake - an artificial man made lake at Thekkady. Periyar wild life in Kerala, India's largest wildlife sanctuary and it is a dream destination for any tourist visiting India. The 120 years old 'Surki' dam built across Peryiar, Poorna in Vedic parlance, is a major tourist attraction. This sanctuary is spread over an area of 777 Sq.Kms, surrounded by an artificial lake over an area of 25 Sq.Kms. Thekkady is a pleasant heaven on earth for those who love nature in its wild manifestations. Here the high ranges of the Western Ghats are clothed in dense evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savannah grasslands. Below this thick green canopy roam herds of elephants, sambars, tigers, gaurs, lion tailed macaques and Nilgiri langurs.
Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary : Idukki wild life Sanctuary is a land-locked district, Idukki is one of the most nature rich areas of Kerala. Situated at an altitude of 450-748 mt above sea level, this sanctuary occupies the forest land between the Cheruthoni river and the Periyar river. The Idukki arch dam, the first major hydroelectric project in Kerala, is situated here. The 33 sq.km scenic lake around the santruary - the Idukki reservoir - is formed by the three dams Cheruthoni, Idukki and KulamavuThere is a scenic lake around the sanctuary, covered by an enchanting canopy of tropical ever-green and deciduous trees, and offers boat rides.

SilentValleyNational Park : Silent Valley National Park (89.52 km²) is located in the Nilgiri Hills, Palakkad district, Kerala, SilentValleyNational Park has a very eventful history in comparison to the other wildlife parks in the country. The local name for the park is Sairandhrivanam (the forest in the valley) . is renowned for its unique rainforest. The Silent Valley National Park is the sole cause of rainfall in Kerala, during the summer season you would notice a wide range of peninsular mammals, 100 different species of butterflies, and also multiple varieties of rare birds. Often during the winters, Migratory birds come here. They are the most unique specimens and attract our attention.
